This Refund and Cancellation Policy governs the subscription services provided through our website TamilOodagam.com and processed via our payment gateway, Razorpay.

Please read this policy carefully before subscribing. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to be bound by the terms outlined below.

1. No Refund Policy (Digital Content)

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for subscription fees.

  • Reason: Tamil Oodagam provides instant, direct digital access to exclusive articles, archives, and premium content (the "Paywall") upon successful payment. Due to the intangible, irrevocable nature of digital content, once access is granted, we cannot "un-deliver" the product.

  • Scope: This no-refund policy applies to all subscription plans, including Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual plans.

  • Partial Periods: If you cancel your subscription, you will not receive a refund for the unused portion of your current billing cycle. You will retain full access until the end of your paid period.

2. Subscription Cancellation Policy (3-Day Pre-Renewal Notice)

We value our readers and offer a straightforward cancellation process. However, to avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, you must follow the timeline below:

  • Automatic Renewal: All subscriptions are set to auto-renew automatically at the end of each billing period to ensure uninterrupted reading access.

  • Cancellation Window (The 3-Day Rule): You must cancel your subscription at least 3 (three) clear business days prior to your next scheduled renewal date.

  • Example: If your renewal date is on the 15th of the month, you must submit your cancellation request on or before the 12th of the month (before 11:59 PM IST).

  • Late Cancellations: If you cancel less than 3 days before the renewal date, your cancellation request will be processed, but the upcoming automatic payment may already have been initiated. In such cases, you will be charged for the next cycle, and no refund will be issued (as per Section 1). You will, however, have access for that final extra period.

3. How to Cancel Your Subscription

You can cancel your subscription through the following methods:

Method 1: Self-Cancellation via Dashboard (Recommended & Fastest)

  • Log in to your Tamil Oodagam account on our website.

  • Navigate to My Account > Subscriptions.

  • Click on the "Cancel Subscription" button next to your active plan.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your cancellation.

  • You will receive an email confirmation of your cancellation.

Method 2: Request via Email

  • Send a cancellation request to our support team at: [email protected] (or your official email).

  • Please include: Your registered email address and full name.

  • Note: Requests sent via email may take up to 24-48 business hours to process. We highly recommend using the self-cancellation dashboard to ensure the 3-day deadline is strictly met.

4. Exceptions (Technical Failures)

While we strictly adhere to the "No Refund" rule, we will consider a pro-rata refund or account credit (at our sole discretion) ONLY in the following scenarios:

  • Service Outage: Tamil Oodagam experiences a sustained, widespread technical outage preventing ALL paid users from accessing the paywall for more than 7 consecutive days.

  • Duplicate/Billing Error: You were mistakenly charged twice for the same billing period due to a technical glitch from Razorpay or our system. (Please report this within 7 days of the charge).

  • Unauthorized Transaction: You can prove that a transaction was made fraudulently without your consent. We will investigate with Razorpay to verify the claim.

5. Failed Payment Retry Policy

If your renewal payment fails (e.g., expired card, insufficient funds), Razorpay will automatically attempt to retry the payment over the next few days.

  • We will send you email notifications alerting you to update your payment method.

  • If the payment continues to fail, your subscription will be temporarily suspended or downgraded to a free plan after the grace period expires.

6. Changes to This Policy

Tamil Oodagam reserves the right to update or modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time without prior notice. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
